Michael Murphy is Founder and CEO of Rosecliff Ventures. Mr. Murphys career as a financial services entrepreneur began over 20 years ago. Throughout his time in the financial services industry, he has developed insight into fundamental investing, private equity, long/short strategies and macro global economic trends. His past successes include; operating a long/short Hedge Fund, successfully growing a wealth management business, running a broker dealer, and working on various investment banking deals. Mr. Murphys experiences led him to launch the Investment firm, Rosecliff Capital, and most recently the Venture Capital Fund, Rosecliff Ventures. He serves as Founder and CEO of both institutions.
Mr. Murphy has been a successful angel investor for the past 7 years. He has played an active role in the success of many startups. It was his experience as an angel investor that lead to the launch of Rosecliff Ventures. Mr. Murphy was a CNBC contributor and has regularly appeared on the networks FastMoney segment, commenting on global macroeconomic trends, equities in the news and the latest market news. Currently, Mr. Murphy appears on FoxBusiness.
A native of New York, Mr. Murphy graduated from Hofstra University and the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. He currently lives in NYC with his wife and five children. Causes close to his heart include; The Frances Pope Memorial Foundation, the American Heart Association, and NYPD Boxing.
Michael Caso is a Principal at Rosecliff Ventures. He is responsible for acquiring, reviewing, researching, and structuring new deal flow and investment opportunities for the fund. Prior to joining the Rosecliff team, Michael worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in their Sales and Trading Division. After spending time at BOA, he met Michael Murphy and the rest was history. Michael initially joined Mr. Murphys Investment firm, Rosecliff Capital, as an Investment Banker, where he focused on Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets, and Initial Public Offerings. Now, Michael joins Mr. Murphy's Venture Capital team as a manager to help launch, build, and expand the fund.
Aside from work, Michael is an avid face in the health and fitness industry. He dedicates a lot of his free time trying to inspire people to live a healthier life through diet, exercise, and cardio vascular activities. Michael is active in the startup community. He currently serves as an Adviser and Brand Ambassador for Nutrichef, a startup health food company. Michael is also a champion Chess player. Since he was nine years old he has competed in many tournaments throughout New York State.
Michael graduated from Fordham Universitys Gabelli School of Business in New York City, with a degree in Mathematics and Economics. While attending Fordham, he received multiple academic honors. Michael was honored with a four year academic scholarship. He served as chairman of the Economic Society and helped organize various volunteer projects across all of New York City. He plans on working towards his CFA and CFP designations later this year.
Jeffrey D. Bull is a special advisor at Rosecliff Ventures. He is the pure definition of honor, determination, and pride. His hard work and sacrifice, allowed him to become a successful entrepreneur. Jeff is an active United States Navy SEAL officer for the past 18 years. His experiences and service has allowed him to be recognized and receive some of the United States militarys highest decorations. Currently, Jeff serves at the Navys Special Warfare Center of Basic Training. He is the officer in Charge of Training detachment in Kodiak, Alaska. His main objective is to manage an 18 man staff of active, reserve, and civilian personnel in support of the SEAL Qualification Training pipeline.
In his previous experiences, Jeff served on two SEAL Teams and two Tactical Development Squadrons. His duty consisted of managing a 32-man Cross Functional Team in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Jeff was a sniper and reconnaissance Team Leader during 9 combat deployments, executing over 300 priority missions in Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflict areas.
Throughout his career, Jeff has received multiple honors for his dedication and achievements as an active member of the United States Navy. He is the recipient of some of the most prestigious awards; the Bronze Star with Valor, the Purple Heart, Defenses Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and the Joint Achievement Medal.
Jeff graduated from Columbia University, with a Masters Degree in Information and Knowledge Strategy. He received his bachelors degree from Norwich University with a dual concentration in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis. He graduated from both Universities with the highest honors, Magna Cum Laude.
Bob Hickey is a special advisor to Rosecliff Ventures. Bob has been a part of the San Francisco tech scene for the past 15 years. His prior experiences include working for and serving on the board of various startups. He is currently Vice President of Sales at WebDAM, a provider of web-based digital asset management software that was acquired by Shutterstock in 2014. Prior to WebDAM, he served as Vice President for Certain INC, a comprehensive event management technology solution that enables organizations to easily plan, promote, manage, and track events in a integrated, could based software suite. In 2013, he was part of Certain’s advisory team that was responsible for the acquisition of tech startup, Check In Easy. Bob spent 6 years working for EVault, a cloud storage provider. During his time with the company, he helped grow the sales platform from $1 million to $64 million. In 2007, EVault was acquired by Seagate for $185m. Bob graduated from SUNY Oswego with a degree in Business and currently lives in San Francisco with his family.
Sal Ciccone is a first year Associate at Rosecliff Ventures. He is responsible for sourcing and optimizing new business opportunities for the fund. Prior to joining the Rosecliff team, Sal has experience in both the healthcare and real estate development industries. He worked full time as an analyst at a Real Estate Investment firm. He was responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial models to support management decision making on numerous real estate transactions. He also helped lead the quarterly forecast and the annual budget processes.
Sal graduated from Fairfield University in Connecticut, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He was awarded a four year academic scholarship and received multiple academic honors. Majoring in biology for four years and studying finance/real estate has allowed Sal to become diverse in his educational experience. Some of his time was spent as a lab assistant researching topics such as; genetic engineering, stem cell research, obesity, cancer and effects of global warming
Away from work, Sal has been involved in sports for his whole life. Throughout his time at Fairfield, he was a member of the Varsity Baseball team where he started for four years. Sal was a member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll in 2012 and 2013 as well as a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team in 2013.
Jordan Zimmerman is a special partner and advisor to Rosecliff Ventures. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Zimmerman Advertising empire, now the 14th largest advertising agency in the world with published billings in excess of $3 billion. Jordan Zimmerman is known as “Advertising’s Bad Boy” and his list of winning clients is a “who’s who” of the retail world. His is the firm that is behind such great brands as ADT, Atlantis, AutoNation, Ashley Furniture, Boston Market, Carfax, CBS, Chico’s, Chuck E. Marcus Antebi is a special advisor to Rosecliff Ventures. He is the Founder and CEO of Juice Press, New York’s fastest growing organic food retailer. For over 25 years Marcus has been highly involved and interested in athletics and nutrition. In the early 90’s he started with rock climbing and then got involved in ultimate frisbee where he played in competitive leagues. In his mid 20’s he pursued skydiving where he began his business career by starting a company called Pier Video. After getting introduced to thai boxing he became consumed by it, had his first fight in 2004, and became captivated with nutrition and the benefits of a plant-based diet that especially included superfoods, raw juices, and lots of salads. Due to dissatisfaction with the commercial juice and raw food industry in New York, Marcus came up with the idea for Juice Press. Since its launch in 2010 it has grown like a weed. With now over 50 locations in the Northeast, JuicePress prides itself on being a customer-focused brand devoted to changing lives through education, product development, and the highest standards in the industry. Kenny Dichter is a special advisor to Rosecliff Ventures. He is the Founder and CEO of Wheels Up, a mammoth in the private aviation industry. Kenny, a serial entrepreneur, has founded numerous companies in the past 20 years in industries ranging from marketing and media to tequila. Dating back to 1996, he founded his first company, Alphabet City, a sports marketing and music company which was sold in 1998. Since then he has founded successful companies such as MGX Lab, an independent, full-service, digital media, brand strategy, and business development company, Tour GCX Partners, Inc., a golf membership program, and most famously, Marquis Jets in 2001 and Tequila Avion in 2010. Marquis Jets, his first venture into the private aviation business, is where he introduced the first-ever fractional jet card program, something that revitalized the industry. After growing the company exponentially and ultimately selling Marquis Jets to Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway’s Net Jets in 2010, Dichter immediately pivoted to his next venture by co-founding Tequila Avion, un ultra-premium brand that in 30 months positioned itself as an emerging leader in its category. Having made his name with Marquis Jets, Dichter has once again disrupted the industry with Wheels Up, a revolutionary membership-based private aviation company that focuses on eliminating fixed costs and providing unparalleled flexibility. It has seen tremendous growth and is loved by celebrities and athletes such as Serena Williams, Rickie Fowler, and Erin Andrews. In addition to his success as an entrepreneur, Kenny is quite the philanthropist. Dichter co-founded Action America, along with AOL Chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong, to unite and activate Americans everywhere to turn the events of 9/11 into positive action. He also chairs the Council of Advocates at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital for Dr. Ken Davis, Mount Sinai’s Chairman and CEO, and sits on the Board of the Jack Martin Fund, which currently works with the hospital’s cutting-edge pediatric oncology department. Also, Dichter is a major supporter of his alma mater, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
